Iron Mountain Theatre is living the dream. Well until we make money with it but in the meantime we are doing what we love in our spare time.

We created, produced and toured 2 new shows this year, we put on workshops with youth in Trail, ran a Glee club in Rossland, created and performed A Tribute to Mining 8 minute musical for Rossland and are loving every minute of it.

Ski Bum;The Musical played 15 shows in Rossland, Trail, Revelstoke, Grand Forks, Fernie, Nelson, Whistler and Cranbrook. White Star Lady played Trail, Rossland, Castlegar, Kaslo, Nelson and will play Grand forks, Kaslo and 2 other cities in the Columbia Basin this fall. Company Jump played Squamish, Langley, Penticton, Saskatchewan, and will play Nakusp, Kaslo, Trail, Castlegar, Creston, Kimberley, Kelowna and Grand forks this Summer, for a total of 16 shows. For Remembrance Day, Company Jump heads North with the Sweet Peas Big Band to play 10 days on Hwy.16. The grand total for IMT  in 2011 will be 52 performances.

Other exciting news includes the recent funding received from The Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance through CBT. Jane Gaudet received touring money for White Star Lady, RJ was successful in securing monies for IMT’s next musical, Mennonite Mafia and Nadine received  financial support for Electro Social Club, the world’s first electronic musical.

Sound equipment will be purchased this month with the generous support of The Community Initiatives grant through CBT, Trail and District Arts Council and Teck Ltd. This new acquisition will enable us to tour more affordably and play venues that are not equipped with a quality sound system.

THANK YOU TO ALL SPONSORS  for making this possible.
