Attention ski bums, snow bums, skinny bums, and large bums; Iron Mountain Theatre (I.M.T.) is proud to present: Ski bum: the Musical. I.M.T. (the company who brought you ‘A Tribute to Mining’, ‘White Star Lady’, and ‘Company jump’) is the Kootenay’s newest, and coolest, professional theatre company. True fire for theatre arts burns in these young writers, composers, singers, actors, and dancers.

‘Ski Bum’ is an original musical written by Tyler Bradley (reporter for the Rossland telegraph and writer of ‘Company Jump’) and Mark Pollard (BSC, MA, writer of ‘A Tribute to Mining’ and ‘White Star Lady’), with music and lyrics by Nadine Tremblay (composer of ‘White Star Lady’ and star of ‘Company Jump’). This all-new musical production tells the story of one ski bum nearly cresting over the hill, with all of his youthful energy intact…and that’s the problem. Jeff Snowden needs to grow up a little, and act a bit more responsibly if he wants things to go his way in adulthood. When an old flame at Big Snow Peak sparks a renewed interest in Jeff’s heart, he starts to consider the benefits of gaining a level of maturity. With the help of a cultural anthropologist –- studying the culture and practices of ski-bummery, and a sometimes-not-so-nice head of ski patrol, he begins to see that he doesn’t have to give up skiing and having fun in order to evolve.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a musical buff, ski bum, ski buff, or musical bum, Ski Bum: the Musical is a fast paced shredding good time for the whole family. With hummable tunes that span a wide range of genres, jokes that run the gamut of humour from slapstick to high comedy, and eleven inspired performances by four actors, this show is guaranteed to be a hit (even if we mess it up it’ll still be funny—funnier maybe). The innuendo alone is enough to tickle even the most chafed of funny-bones.

Just look what these bums had to say:
“Watching it was just like skiing, only without the gear, the mountain, or the snow…….wait can I change that” – Apres ski bum.

‘I wish he’d done more with his life’ – R.J.’s mom.
